08 Nov Citizens in Planning

I’ve just come back from London, where I co-facilitated a workshop on citizens in urban planning workshop at MozFest.  A teaching kit  called Your Story Goes Here – created with Michelle Gay as a part of a community informatics course – formed the basis of our workshop.

We led our six participants through the steps of creating a digital story about urban planning – with the hope that they’ll go home and democratize the urban planning process.

MozFest (held at the Ravensbourne Design School – see above) was a fantastic experience – a crazy mix of a tech conference, science fair, hackathon, design jam, and community meeting.
