10 May Because Marc Smith (So what!)

Slam poetry, performance poetry, spoken word. Call it what you will, but it’s a crazy, balls to the wall, no holds bar, straight from the heart kinda thing.

A couple weeks ago, I was at Hugh’s Room to witness the Toronto Poetry Slam finale, which featured special guest Marc Smith, the originator of the slam movement. I couldn’t find any recent videos that did Marc’s work justice, but this older clip gives you an idea of what went down at Hugh’s Room.
