Writerly isn’t a word you often hear. It’s not the sort of adjective that’s dropped into casual conversation, or bandied about over a pint, or even a cup of tea for that matter.

In fact, it sounds a bit made up, or perhaps a little pretentious (blame Roland Barthes for that one.)

Well, it’s time to reclaim writerly, and return it to its rightful place in the digital space – amongst discussions on writing and writers (obviously), books, magazines and media of all kinds, journalism, art, music… you get the idea. My hope is that writerly will be electic, interesting and entertaining. I welcome your thoughts on anything you read here.
